Thank you for following along my food journey throughout Ireland and Scotland!

I found that food was a way to connect and get to know others, a way to hear their story. Sometimes even a drawer full of letters, poetry accompanying Haggis, or knowing where the ingredients come from also tells a story.

With every new experience, there was usually food. With every new food, there was usually a waiter or local that grew up with the taste. They usually loved to talk about it. Food allowed for the people I met to explain their past and their story and for me to more deeply experience my surroundings.

Viewing this trip through the lens of food has allowed me to better remember and more deeply appreciate Ireland and Scotland. Both my experience with food and the locals’ stories with food gave me a sense of place.

The amazing UNCA group that I traveled with on a hike in the Scottish Highlands.
